2 cool nights: Arsenal, A Liberal Haven invaded
[4-10-04] Nolton Morrow: For the residents of these regions it was surely an interruption of a peaceful life with little contact outside the region and a seemingly random, hectic experience thrown in one, but for the world's warfans, it has been a calm and pleasant twenty-four hours. Entertaining kind of. We follow two invasions that happened exactly a day after each other. The heavy player: Rejected Realms Army, Freedom Fighters. Below: A Liberal Haven
Arsenal
Last night the quiet two dozen-sized region was invaded by The Right Wing. The Right Wing is a beginning crasher region with a serious neoconservative angle. From their regional factbook: "We take the 'right' side of the issues and fight the never-ending battle against communism. We fight continuously against the reds and we shall never relent." Their forum here. This was not the first time Arsenal has been a target, having been invaded more than once before, including an alleged attempt by The Right Wing before.
However, a roughly 10:30pm EDT the Rejected Realms Army showed up on the scene to stop them. They, and reinforcements from Freedom Fighters and later TITO, began their primary tactic and endorsed Frostyland, the native delegate of Arsenal. Half an hour later, though, the orders changed and new arriving soldiers endorsed RRA High Commander puppet Shadow Riders. In an interview, an anonymous RRA soldier told us "we decided to then pull our endorsements from the sitting delegate to Shadow Rider (Siggi) so we could hand power over back to the natives as soon as possible."
Over the course of the next five hours roughly twenty soldiers from the RRA, Freedom Fighters, and other ADN regions moved to Arsenal; the nine Right Wing nations in Arsenal remained without reinforcements. By 5:47am EDT Shadow Rider, having won, became the next delegate and prompty booted the invaders and ADN support before returning himself to the same region as both groups.
A Liberal Haven
DEN (forum) lost control over A Liberal Haven tonight. The DEN governor of A Liberal Haven, Rarely Steamboats, suffered the wrath of mod at roughly 11pm EDT on April 9th. It was reported in the SeattleNews ticker moments later. The reason? Griefing. Rarely Steamboats apparently ejected a native but kept that nation banned from the region. Quoting badass moderator Cogitation:
The native "West Phalia" was ejected and has not been removed from the banlist. This is griefing. I declare this invasion to be illegal. All invaders should reread the invasion rules. www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=109397 Oh, one other thing, just because other players would grief a reigon by emptying it out completely does not make your actions any less illegal.
1am: Gen Collin Powel issued an apology and took on the responsibility for Rarely Steamboats' deletion.
Cogitation is correct, troops. We should have removed West Phalia from the ban list. That oversight is my error, and one for which I take personal responsibility. I have asked the moderator to re-instate Rarely Steamboat's nation; a decision one way or the other is forthcoming. Former Delegate West Phalia was sent an invitation to rejoin ALH immediately following the crash, but the error was in not removing him from the ban list. We will attend to this appropriately during future missions.
Half an hour after the deletion, the RRA arrived at the scene, taking advantage of the situation to score a win. Rejected Realms Army, Freedom Fighters, miscellaneous ADN regions (such as Zombieland, Sparrow, and Nasicournia), and the Sons of Liberty, all together twenty strong gathered and chose an RRA nation to "lead".
By 3am tonight Gen Collin Powell ordered a withdrawal of all DEN forces from A Liberal Haven:
DEN TROOPERS: It appears that this region will be retaken by defensive forces upon the next UN update. All DEN forces may return to DEN at your soonest convenience.
We leave the battlefield to the forces of the ADN, TITO and RRA. Well done, defenders. See you at the next one.
As of this broadcast A Liberal Haven has just fallen to RRA forces led by El Gato Cosa minutes ago.
