LadyRebels has been delegate of the South Pacific since mid-July last year after former delegate Gatren lost its UN membership status. She has been a Captain in the Atlantic Alliance, a Meritocratic Senatrix, and chaired coalition of the leaders of several regions opposed to the New Pacific Order. In January she withstood an attempted coup in her region by Savage Lands Reloaded, former founder and head of the Pacific Army (now Freedom Fighters), who is said to have engaged in widespread endorsement-swapping to gain delegacy and performed a malicious "smear campaign" against her. Lately she has opened up relations with the Pacific somewhat (SeattleNews predicted this trend); LadyRebels has registered ot the forum not as a friendly ambassador, but just an observer of what the NPO is really like. One of our newest reporters, Isabella Valentine, recently had an opportunity to interview Natalia Halmont II, Queen of LadyRebels
Isabella Valentine: Good Evening your Majesty Natalia Halmont II, Queen of LadyRebels, Natalia.
Queen of LadyRebels: Hello Isabella Valentine, Reporter. How may I help you?
ISABELLA VALENTINE: Ok, first of all tell me about yourself, on this day, personal and of course the South Pacific.
LadyRebels: I am doing as I do everyday, just trying to be a good person and stay Delegate of the Great Region of the South Pacific. What personal information would you like to know?
ISABELLA VALENTINE: Who is Natalia Halmont II, the everyday person?
LadyRebels: She is someone that takes care of business, loves her husband, her sisters, even her brother, and she fights for the rights of her Nations people to be free to do as they see fit. She is a Lady, but when upset the Rebel comes out very strong in her.
ISABELLA VALENTINE: You are the second Queen of LadyRebels, right?
LadyRebels: I am the Second Queen of LadyRebles within the NationStates World. But there were more of them, greater and better in some aspects.
ISABELLA VALENTINE: Queen Constance, your mother, was indeed one of the greatest leaders of your nation, but you as a young and new Queen, wanted more. But before the Delegacy of the South Pacific, there was the West Pacific, what represents the WP, to the reigning Queen of LadyRebels?
LadyRebels: The West Pacific holds fond memories and I learned a lot there, watching two Delegates of the West Pacific, FoCA [Federation of Commercial Affairs] and then Norion. I met my husband Nicholas Halmont the IV there, I learned to fight wars there, and I still have strong ties with the West Pacific. I still consider it my home in many ways, the West Pacific being the Creation Region of LadyRebles, holds my soul; the South Pacific holds my heart.
ISABELLA VALENTINE: Your heart belongs to the South Pacific, indeed, why and when did you become interested in the Delegacy of the South Pacific?
LadyRebels: I never really was interested in it, my sister Desert Rose moved here to help in the fight to free the South Pacific from a tyrant, XYZ Affair. In doing that a lot of things happened and Desert Rose lost her UN Status, while fighting and such, the Security Council of the South Pacific met and Desert asked me to move here, so I did. I wanted to join in the fight to free the South Pacific and keep it that way, so with hard work and a lot of support, when Garten, who was a great Delegate in his own right, lost his UN Membership, I had enough endorsements to take the Delegates Seat. I have been in it since then, except for a time when I got really sick, then a Dear and Trusted Member of the Government stepped up and took the Seat, so that we would remain free.
ISABELLA VALENTINE: You are seeking Peace in the South Pacific but not long after you became delegate again, Savage Lands wanted a piece of the cake, what are your thoughts on Savage Lands Reloaded’s intentions with the South Pacific?
LadyRebels: I was angry, very angry to find out that the feeling that I had about him turned out to be true. He thought that he would succeed because he was well known, but then he made a mistake, he got to greedy to fast. If not for the lies that he spread he might have done it, but then him moving around like he did before the updates, me coming online to find out everything that day, he did not have a chance. He did move his UN Nation back into the SP right before the update and I banned him. Thankfully his plan did not succeed. The South Pacific is a strong region, and anyone that thinks differently, thinks so at his or her own peril.
ISABELLA VALENTINE: Who helped you when Savage Lands Reloaded was attacking the South Pacific?
LadyRebels: The South Pacific Nations, the Meritocracy, the Region Canada, the AA, the West Pacific, the North Pacific, and so many friends and allies that I can not recall them all right off the top of my head. I owe them so many thanks; I feel I can never truly repay the debt.
ISABELLA VALENTINE: Finally peace came to the South Pacific. But something was out there, something that the Queen couldn’t live with, Francos Spain and the NPO. I want to quote Senator Unlimited: "She seems to think that while she sends legions of nations to attack our peaceful region, she can sit back in a region far, far away sipping on a cool drink without fear of retribution." You where of course one of the most active in the Anti-Francoist Network, against the NPO and Francos Spain, what represent in the turmoil life of LadyRebels?
LadyRebels: That is where things get turned around. I certainly spoke out against FS and the NPO, because I did not understand what they were doing, I listened to others and made moves to help out those against him. But I never, on my honor as a Queen and as Delegate of the South Pacific, sent one telegram to any nation about Francos Spain, lying about him or anything else. I did as many did and worked the glitch, but when the Moderators called for a stand down the DSP was ordered home, after that I went off line and came back the next day to learn that [violet] had made a ruling to allow it. It broke my heart, thinking at the time as I did, that we had failed to free the Pacific. Before that, and after that, I was to busy fighting for the freedom of the South Pacific to much worry about it, the residents (natives) of the Pacific seemed not to be bothered much by it, so I let things calm down in the SP and just kept my eyes and ears open. Some things change with time, and my views have changed as well. I will never be a full supporter of Francos Spain or the NPO, but I will not view the lies about them the same as I did before. They seem to want what any of us want, Peace and the freedom to be who and what we want to become, nothing more or less.
ISABELLA VALENTINE: So now you support the NPO and Francos Spain; and that is why LadyRebels is a member of the NPO's forum?
LadyRebels: No I do not support them, I went there to find my own answers to questions I needed answered for myself. I support some of the ideas that he has, like the rights of people to express themselves on their boards, the fight for peace that happens everyday within that region. What I don't support is the 15-endorsement law he has in effect, although I understand now why he has that there, I still don't agree with it. I also don't agree with some of the Nations that were and are banned from the Pacific because of Nation Name or Motto, I understand better why, but I still don't agree with it. I think that a Government should have started with several people, as it did in the SP, FS did not do that. I don't much care for the ratting out of people just to get ahead in a Government. Such as, it seems to be the set up in the NPO, but I am a new member and with everything going on, I have not fully gotten around to reading all of the threads, so as I stated, it seems that way to me now. I will not sing flowery praises about Francos Spain, but I will not rip him apart for what he has accomplished.
ISABELLA VALENTINE: Thank you so much, Natalia. It has been an honor to have you here. We now understand the point of view of a Queen, who wishes nothing more than peace and equality in the regions of the world, and who's heart belongs to the region she leads, the South Pacific. Before we go, do you have anything else to say about your beloved region the SP?
LadyRebels: I suppose I would say, that the South Pacific is only strong because of all the active Nations there. Together we will keep the South Pacific free, and we will have fun doing so. To all my friends of the South Pacific and to all my friends all over NS, I wish to let you know that I love you all dearly, and may peace always reign for you, unless you wish for something different. Respectfully, The Queen of LadyRebels, Delegate of the South Pacific, By Grace of the South Pacific Nations.
LadyRebels: Thank you Isabella for the chance to have this interview, I do hope that you stop by sometime when it is not an official visit.
ISABELLA VALENTINE: Thank you very much, Your Majesty. This has been a report by Isabella Valentine, Representing the SBC SeatteNews, a division of SeattleCorp. Good evening and see you later.
